On September 27, a delegation of three led by Professor Andrea Nolan, President and Vice-Chancellor of Edinburgh Napier University, and Zhou Fan, Director of Global Affairs in the International Department, visited YUFE. Yan Ming, member of the University Party Committee and Vice President, held talks with Professor Nolan and her delegation.
Yan Ming warmly welcomed Professor Nolan and her delegation, reviewed the 12-year cooperation history and achievements between the two universities, and comprehensively introduced YUFE's campus culture construction, discipline and professional construction, talent cultivation, and international development vision. Yan Ming stated that Yunnan University of Finance and Economics highly values its cooperative relationship with Edinburgh Napier University. Years of sincere cooperation have laid a solid foundation of friendship and collaboration. He expressed hope for comprehensive and multi-level cooperation in teaching and talent cultivation, international scientific research cooperation, and faculty development.
Professor Nolan highly agreed and expressed that Edinburgh Napier University hopes to provide more international learning opportunities for students from both universities through existing cooperative projects, enriching students' learning experiences. She also hoped that this visit would further expand cooperation between the two universities in talent cultivation, scientific research collaboration, and cultural exchanges between faculty and students, jointly promoting the internationalization development strategies of both institutions.
In the afternoon, Professor Nolan attended the welcome meeting for the 2024 freshmen of the China-UK Cooperative Undergraduate Education Program in Finance. She encouraged the new students to fully utilize the cooperation project between the two universities, broaden their international horizons, and actively plan their academic and career development. During the interactive session, the visiting team answered in detail students' questions about study abroad planning, program selection, and future employment. Students expressed that through this meeting, they gained a clearer understanding of their future academic and career directions and were full of expectations for the international cooperation program.
