On September 21, the China Industrial Economics Society 2024 Academic Annual Conference and "New Quality Productive Forces and Modern Industrial System" Seminar, hosted by the China Industrial Economics Society and organized by YUFE, was held in Kunming, Yunnan. Researcher Shi Dan, President of the China Industrial Economics Society, Professor Wang Min, President of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, and nearly 100 experts and scholars from institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Fudan University, Beijing Normal University, Renmin University of China, Wuhan University, Nankai University, Xiamen University, Shandong University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shandong University of Finance and Economics, and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law attended the conference. Professor Li Zhengbiao, Vice President of YUFE, presided over the opening ceremony.
In his welcome speech, Wang Min introduced the efforts and achievements of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics in academic innovation, discipline construction, talent cultivation, achievement transformation, and external exchanges, and wished the conference a complete success.
Shi Dan expressed sincere gratitude and greetings to Yunnan University of Finance and Economics and the participating guests and experts. She introduced the current development of the China Industrial Economics Society and put forward suggestions and hopes.
The first session of keynote speeches was chaired by Professor Wang Wenju, Party Secretary of Capital University of Economics and Business. Researcher Shi Dan delivered a keynote speech on "Developing New Quality Productive Forces to Strengthen the Real Economy"; Professor Guo Kesha, Director of the Center for Economic Policy Research at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, spoke on "Promoting Coordinated Development of New Industrialization and New Urbanization"; Professor Zuo Heping, former President of Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University, spoke on "Thoughts and Exploration on New Quality Productive Forces in Vocational Education".
The second session of keynote speeches was chaired by Professor Yuan Hongying, Party Secretary of Shandong Academy of Social Sciences. Professor Jiang Chuanhai, Party Secretary of East China University of Science and Technology, spoke on "Global Industrial Chain Restructuring and China's Strategic Response"; Professor Hong Junjie, President of Shandong University of Finance and Economics, spoke on "Digital Trends and New Advantages in International Cooperation and Competition"; Professor Li Zhengbiao spoke on "Chinese Enterprises' Foreign Direct Investment and New Trends in International Industrial Transfer".
The academic exchange section consisted of six parallel sessions. Experts and scholars from various universities and research institutions commented on 34 papers presented at the conference. Professor Liu Fuhua, Dean of the School of Economics, Associate Professor Li Fan, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics, and Associate Professor Fang Zhu from the Journal Center of YUFE served as commentators in the parallel sessions.
The conference received 405 papers, from which 30 were selected for conference presentation, along with 4 papers from nearly 200 submissions to the youth forum. The paper "How New Quality Productive Forces Empower the Enhancement of Industrial Chain Resilience: Theoretical Logic and Empirical Evidence" by Professor Liu Fuhua, Dr. Zhang Jiayi, and Dr. Liang Mu from YUFE was selected for presentation at the conference.
