President Wang Min Invited to Attend the Anniversary Celebration of Communication University of China

From September 25 to 26, Wang Min, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of YUFE, was invited to attend the 70th anniversary celebration of Communication University of China and participate in a series of international higher education activities, achieving fruitful results.

On September 25, Wang Min attended the China-Vietnam News Communication Higher Education Presidents Forum and delivered a keynote speech titled "The Great Way in Action: Injecting YUFE Strength into Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind". He shared the characteristics and achievements of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics in international educational exchanges and cooperation from three aspects: "bringing in", "going out", and "building together". He also proposed suggestions and ideas on how to leverage their own advantages to promote China-Vietnam cultural exchanges and cooperation in news communication higher education.

The forum was hosted by Communication University of China and organized by the International Communication Joint Research Institute of the Ministry of Education and the Regional and Country-specific Communication Research Institute. Zhang Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Chen Guohua, Deputy Director of the Social Science Department of the Ministry of Education, delivered speeches. Leaders from 28 universities in China and Vietnam attended the meeting, aiming to implement the important consensus and results reached during the bilateral visits of the highest leaders of the two parties and countries.






On the same day, Wang Min attended the working promotion meeting of the International Alliance for Higher Education in Media. 35 universities from 14 countries and regions participated in the meeting. At the meeting, Yunnan University of Finance and Economics officially joined the International Alliance for Higher Education in Media. The alliance aims to promote exchanges and cooperation among member institutions in talent cultivation, scientific research, personnel exchanges, digital resource sharing, and other fields, to promote the open sharing of media higher education resources, and to build a platform for dialogue between the global media industry and higher education community.

On September 26, Wang Min attended the 70th anniversary celebration ceremony of Communication University of China. At the beginning of the meeting, Huai Jinpeng, Party Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Minister of Education, read out the important reply letter from General Secretary Xi Jinping. Chinese and foreign university presidents and guests jointly studied and understood the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important reply letter on-site.




After the celebration ceremony, Wang Min attended the results release conference of the China-Vietnam News Communication Higher Education Dialogue and the release conference of the "2024 International Alliance for Higher Education in Media Initiative". During the event, Wang Min and his delegation also visited the School of Advertising at Communication University of China, and toured the China Advertising Museum and the Computational Advertising Laboratory of the School of Advertising.






Looking to the future, Yunnan University of Finance and Economics will focus on international communication as a key direction. The university will utilize the China Brand South Asia and Southeast Asia International Communication Research Center as a means to integrate disciplines and majors. Through the construction of a new type of think tank, the university will actively serve and integrate into national strategies, while also supporting the development of Yunnan Province as a regional hub.

Yuan Hong, Dean of our School of Media and Design Arts, participated in the "China-Vietnam News Communication Discipline Construction and Talent Training" Dean's Forum. Gao Yang, Director of the China Brand South Asia and Southeast Asia International Communication Research Center, and Chen Pengjian from the university's administrative office also attended the event.
