From September 21 to 22, the 4th "Data Intelligence and Management" Academic Conference and the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Artificial Intelligence Technology and Management Application Branch of the Management Science and Engineering Society were held at the Kunming Lianyun Hotel and the Yunnan Province Service Computing Key Laboratory of YUFE, respectively.
The conference, themed "Data Intelligence and Management", was hosted by the Artificial Intelligence Technology and Management Application Branch of the Management Science and Engineering Society, organized by the Intelligent Application Research Institute of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics and the Yunnan Province Service Computing Key Laboratory, and co-organized by Beihang University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and the Key Laboratory of Data Intelligence and Smart Management of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The conference featured over 20 well-prepared reports and one paper workshop, focusing on the cross-application and innovative development of artificial intelligence technology with management science, statistics, operations research, systems science, fin-tech, urban governance, and other disciplines and fields.
Professor Chen Hong, Party Secretary of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, Yan Ming, member of the University Party Committee and Vice President, and Professor Wu Junjie from Beihang University, Director of the "Artificial Intelligence Technology and Management Application" Branch of the Management Science and Engineering Society, attended the conference. The conference attracted dozens of national high-level talents, including National Distinguished Young Scholars and Changjiang Scholars, and received attention and coverage from major media such as Xinhua Net, Yunnan Daily, and Yunnan Net.
In his speech, Chen Hong stated that in the context of the global digital transformation wave, "Data Intelligence and Management" is not only an academic topic but also a major proposition related to national development strategy, social governance system, and industrial transformation and upgrading. General Secretary Xi Jinping has repeatedly emphasized the need to accelerate the development of the digital economy, promote the deep integration of the Internet, big data, and artificial intelligence with the real economy, and drive the transformation of manufacturing towards digitalization, networking, and intelligence. The national "14th Five-Year Plan" and the 2035 long-term goal outline also clearly state the need to "accelerate digital development and build a digital China," promote efficient use of data resources, accelerate the market-oriented allocation of data elements, and promote the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy. General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourses and the national strategic deployment have pointed out the development direction for the field of data intelligence and management.
Professor Wu Junjie said in his speech that generative artificial intelligence, large language models, and other technologies are affecting the world at an astonishing speed, and the digital economy is occupying an increasingly important position in China's social development. The deep integration of artificial intelligence and management science is not only a trend but also an important engine driving social innovation and development. He believes that the Artificial Intelligence Technology and Management Application Branch of the Management Science and Engineering Society will gather top global scholars and industry elites to promote cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence technology and management science through interdisciplinary cooperation, making positive contributions to the intersection and integration of disciplines.
The conference set up four major themed reports in two phases. The first phase was chaired by Professor Wu Junjie, with brilliant reports delivered by Chen Yuxin, Director of the Business Department and Distinguished Global Business Chair Professor at NYU Shanghai, and Feng Juan, Honghai Chair Professor at the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. Professor Chen Yuxin shared on the theme "AI Psychology: Looking Beyond Content Generation for Business and Management Applications"; Professor Feng Juan presented a report titled "Human Creator and Gen AI: Competition and Complementary Effect".
The second phase of the conference opening ceremony and themed reports was chaired by Jiang Rong, Chief Professor of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, Deputy Director of the Intelligent Application Research Institute, and Director of the Yunnan Province Service Computing Key Laboratory. In the second phase of reports, Zhao Shengjie, Academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences and Professor at Tongji University, shared on "Data Intelligence Driving Smart Cities"; Ge Dongdong, Distinguished Professor at the Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Director of the Institute of Intelligent Computing, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, shared a report titled "Intelligent Computing and Large Model Decision-Making".
On the afternoon of the 21st, four parallel sessions on "Data Elements and AI Governance" "Large Models and Smart Management" "Digital Platforms and Business Intelligence" and "Data-Driven Optimization and Decision-Making" were launched simultaneously. Twenty invited guests from computational science and management science, including Deputy Dean Liu Ting, Professor Cheng Mingming, Professor Xu Tong, and Associate Professor Peng Yijie, along with experts and scholars from various domestic universities, presented their latest research results, shared innovative experiences, and engaged in a top-notch brainstorming session on topics such as "AI Psychology" "Smart City Construction" "Large Model Decision-Making" "Complex System Simulation Optimization" and "Data Inference and Data Security".
On the morning of September 22, the conference paper workshop showcased multiple excellent papers and invited experts for comments.
